Happiness is..A Big Wet Dog

Today's high winds and pelting rains must appeal to Theo's Newfoundland spirit--he tore around the backyard and rolled in the wet grass!

You Stole My Pillow!

Every so often, Theo will hop up on the bed. Fortunately, this does not take place when we're in it.

First Impressions

We met Theo for the first time at a dog park in urban Cleveland. A man from the rescue agency met us there. He was a decent-sized man, but the big black dog on the end of his leash was pulling him here, there, and everywhere. I wondered if I would have the ability to deal with that kind of power!

Off the leash, Theo was playful and unintimidated by other dogs. He drank a lot of water. He seemed to gravitate to Sue the most. He seemed strong and noble. Here was the dog I had dreamed of, and even though there was no moment where he looked deeply into my eyes with eternal gratitude, I knew he should come live with us. And he would. And eventually, I would receive those looks and much more.

Theo's New 'Do

A Story of Boy Meets Dog

This is the first picture we ever saw of Theo, our Newfoundland dog who came to live with us in December 2009. A random search on yielded this photo, a description of his personality, and his current location, which just so happened to be Cleveland, Ohio. That is how it all began.
